Grants
At Autism Society of Ohio, our mission is to promote acceptance of autism and facilitate access to services statewide. Acknowledging the diverse needs of Ohio’s communities, we’ve established these Programming Grants to empower local initiatives.
While our regional affiliates typically oversee these efforts, we’re dedicated to supporting initiatives at the local level. If you reside in a county without direct coverage from one of our affiliate offices and wish to establish a support group, organize seasonal events, or assist families in your community in other ways, we want to help!
These grants offer financial assistance of up to $750 to enable grassroots efforts and foster community-driven solutions. Additionally, we can often provide programming templates to help jumpstart your initiatives.

Examples of Grant Use
Thanks to an Autism Society of Ohio grant, every first-grade class in Tuscawaras County has received Heather Avis’s book Everyone Belongs and a guest storyteller to read it. This joyful rhyming book is about how easy it is to make small changes to accommodate those with Autism and other disabilities.
The ASO grant will significantly enhance the experience for families attending the 26th Annual Ohio PawPaw Festival in September in Albany. The funding will be allocated to establish a dedicated sensory break tent. Offering a tranquil space for attendees to recharge, this tent will be equipped with various snacks, sensory activities, and noise-canceling headphones. It will provide a sanctuary away from the bustling crowds the tent aims to foster inclusivity and ensure a more enjoyable experience for individuals with Autism and other developmental disabilities.
